NYX Lip Lacquer Pot # 05 Simply Red Review & Swatch

Hey everyone! This is my first review here and I really hope you all like it :) I will be reviewing my latest love today. So, all red lipstick lovers ATTENTION! I was in search of a good red lipstick which did not have any pink undertones. I narrowed down my search to two options, both of which unfortunately are out of stock now  finally , this beauty caught my eye. Read on to find how it fared:

Price: Rs 450 for 4 gm

NYX claims: Drench your lips in this high-shine, high-impact lip lacquer in a portable pot. Whether applied over lipstick or worn solo, the results are always ultra-luminous. Available in 12 lip gloss shades.

Ingredients: Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Diisostearyl Malate, Polybutene, Isostearyl Isostearate, Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate, PPG-3 Benzy Ether Myristate, Cholesteryl Hydroxystearate, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Polyethylene, B.H.A., and Polyethylene Terephthalate. MAY CONTAIN: Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxide Red (CI 77491), Iron Oxide Yellow (CI 77492), Iron Oxide Black (CI 77499), D&C Red No.6 (CI 15850), D&C Red No.7 (CI 15850), or FD&C Yellow No.5 Aluminum Lake (CI 19140).

My take on it: This is a perfect blend of lipstick and lip gloss. I have never used something so beautiful before. The red is a true watermelon red. It is not exactly the orangey red I want, but its not pinkish either this red would suit all complexions. But yes, you need to have flawless skin ( naturally or with concealers!) for trying this one.

The texture is soft and creamy. It is very moisturizing too, I need not apply a lip balm before using this. I used this with a lip brush and one swipe gives a nice red tint on lips, while two swipes makes it completely opaque.

There is a high shine as promised by the product. I am not quite fond of shiny red lips and so I blot the shine off to some extent with a tissue, the lip swatch is taken without blotting though. Although this product is very creamy and saucy, it does not bleed at all. I have used this without using lip liners. It survives light snacks and drinks( when using a straw), however its completely gone after a full meal leaving behind just a nice tint. I will be using it just on the center of my lips with my matte red lipsticks for better staying power. Overall, I am very fond of this product and would definitely recommend it to others as well.

Swatch :

On My Lips :

PROS:

  • True cool toned red
  • Very creamy and moisturizing
  • Does not bleed even though its saucy
  • Does not settle on fines lines
  • Leaves behind a nice tint after 3 to 4 hours
  • No strong smell at all

CONS :

  • Pricey
  • Does not come with a lip brush and so not travel friendly
  • Staying power could have been better

My Rating: 4/5
Final Verdict :So, in a nutshell, this is a color for those who love bold colors and would want to add more and more reds to their stash :D bye bye, see you all with the next review soon

The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Shimmer Lotion Review

$

0

Hello Everyone!
I am very Grateful to Sukanya for allowing me to review this product on her blog : Makeup Beauty Lounge.

Coming back to the review, I bought this TBS Ginger Sparkle Shimmer Lotion during my last haul from GVK Mall, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. So read on to know whether this lotion is worth it or not…..

The Body Shop says : This festive, limited-edition body lotion gives skin a subtle veil of shimmer and has a zingy ginger fragrance. Perfect for the party season.

Lightweight moisture
Subtle shimmer
Zingy ginger scent
Limited edition

Price : INR 795 for 250ml (I bought it for 60% discount during Valentine’s Day offer)

How to use : Smooth onto your body wherever you’d like a hint of shimmer. Not to be used on face.

The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Shimmer Lotion comes packed in a transparent plastic bottle with a golden colored pump dispenser, the dispenser needs to be turn left and right simultaneously to open and close. The Lotion smells pungent like ginger, I mean eating ginger is different but applying it on your body is like Yuck! Don’t know what was I thinking when I bought this ;) the scent lingers on your skin for about 4-5 hours .It’s enriched with Ginger root extract and Shea Butter.

The lotion is slightly creamy white in color with lots of micro-shimmer particles, but you can find the shimmers fairly distributed on your body when blended well. It absorbs well into the skin and makes my skin soft and supple; you would love to touch your skin again and again. The lotion is non-greasy and non-sticky; hence, It is most suitable for dry skin beauties. A little amount of Body Lotion is enough for legs, back and hands.

Swatch :

Pros of The body shop Ginger Sparkle Shimmer Lotion:

  • Contains shea butter
  • Moisturizes skin along with shimmer
  • Pump dispenser
  • Little amount is required for back, legs and hands
  • Non greasy texture
  • blends easily.
  • Suitable for all skin types, especially dry skin
  • Paraben free
  • Available online on www.medplusbeauty.com and in outlets

Cons of The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Shimmer Lotion:

  • Price is on the higher side
  • Ginger smell might be a hitch for some
  • Limited edition

My Rating : 3.2/5

Will I repurchase : I will, but not this particular ginger one. I would rather go for Cranberry or Vanilla Shimmer Body Lotion.

Inglot Freedom System Eye shadow 421 Pearl Review & Swatches

Inglot Claims :Paraben free formula. Not tested on animals

Price: 300 INR for 2.7 g

My take on the Inglot eye shadow 421 Pearl:

If you are a neutral eye shadow lover then shade 421 Pearl is a must-have eye hadow from Inglot. It is pigmented, pretty shade from the brown family that stays on forever.

Shade: 421 is a pretty medium toned brown e/s with a hit of orange somewhere and can surely pass as a light bronze for me. The shade falls under the Pearl finish range and has nice shimmers which is easy to use and leave a lovely sheen on the eyes. I am so happy to have this in my Inglot e/s collection as it is my first neutral shade from the brand that is quite an easy wearable color.

Texture: Pigmented, soft, easy to pick with a brush and super easy to work with on the lids. It stays on till you desire to remove it yourself. No chance of fading or creasing of the color alone. There is no fall-out of the shade and alone makes an awesome choice for a neutral overall lid color. The lovely shine left on the lids because of the shimmery texture adds to the beauty f the shade.

Packaging: I got the refill which can be stored in a magnetic palette bought from the brand or a DIY palette made at home. Alone these can be difficult to carry around.

Swatches :

On my eyes :

Pros:

  • Gorgeous medium bronze shade
  • Nicely pigmented.
  • Does not fade/crease
  • Easy to remove using your normal cleanser
  • Does not have fall-out
  • Decently priced
  • Stays on for several hours at a stretch.
  • Available online.

Cons:

  • A palette becomes necessary to store these.

My Rating: 4.8/5
Final Verdict: One of my favorite shades from Inglot that too, it’s more of a neutral color and I am not a fan of browns as such but this shade changed my mind ;). A Highly recommended color.

MAC Morange Dupe ?? Colorbar True Gloss Coral Craving 004 Review & Swatches

Hello lovely ladies

How are you all <3? In this swelteringly hot season where we are already half-dead and roasted under the sun:-/, nothing else seems to cheer me up except a bright cheery pop of color on my lips:D so I have been obsessed by bright pinks/corals and yes oranges ;) The color which I thought would never ever suit me , I have started gravitating towards it with increasing frequency *_* and 1 of the culprits is of course  the color coral craving in the colorbar true gloss range . Though the name implies coral imo there is almost no trace of true coral there!
Read on to know why!

What they say :

Colorbar's True Gloss collection has the long-staying payoff of a lipstick and the glimmering shine of a lipgloss in one amazing product. It’ll drench your lips in color and shine, while its ultra-moisturizing formula keeps lips soft and smooth for hours.

Price: 495 Rs (:-/ not expected from colorbar) for 3.8 ml

My take on the product-

I have been meaning to get these glosses since like eternity: P but something or other always butted in with my poor pocket (read empty) and messed up my plans. This time though I was rigid that I had to get 1 at least!

The gloss comes in a standard transparent tube with a doe-foot applicator which picks up enough gloss to go through the lips once

The texture is very gloopy, sticky and thick:-/. It takes its own sweet will and time to spread on the lips. I dislike it as I abhor applying something like this on my lips in this season specially I have gone through many blogs which compare the texture with Nyx lip creams but I have never used them so I have no idea!

The gloss is insanely pigmented! I have never come across a gloss which can be like this! I was totally floored! It goes on glossy and opaque in a single swipe and its lasting power! Omg!! It scores over all other glosses I have tried (yes including MAC) and refuses to leave my lips till 5 hours minimum! After that it fades badly though as it’s such a bold color, so it’s recommended that you touch up! The gloss does not hydrate my lips much after it wears off but on the other hand does not dry out either!

The color to me is nothing like true peachy-pinky coral really :-/ it’s a vibrant, in-your-face coral which leans entirely on the orangey side  and it takes a ton of guts to wear this outdoors in full blast :P *I have never been able to :P* when you wear this people will stare till their eyes pop out :P *fanciful imagination :P* but it’s perfect for this season and you can easily dab it on for a pretty color of lesser intensity

Swatches (in day light)

My LOTDS- (a single swipe)

To me this is almost the Liquid version of MAC Morange , though morange is true orange not reddish orange but on my lips they are strangely similar ! I dare to wear morange for its finish solely while the intense heavy glossy finish makes coral craving not that wearable:-/

Swatching side by side for you!

Pros of Colorbar true gloss Coral Craving –

  • Travel-friendly tube packaging with a convenient doe-foot applicator
  • Madly pigmented gloss which goes on opaque in a swipe!
  • Very very long lasting and stays easily through food for 5 hours approx
  • Bright, stark vibrant blood-orange in color which cheers me up instantly: D
  • A tiny amount of gloss is required so a tube will last a long long time!
  • No noticeable taste.
  • Does not dry out lips!

Cons of Colorbar true gloss Coral Craving-
  • I hate the texture:-/ I hate icky sticky things which feel heavy and sweaty
  • Price could have been a bit less considering its colorbar and 3.8 ml only:-/

My rating- 3.5/5 (-1 for the texture and -0.5 for overpricing)

Do I recommend?
Oh yes I do! Gloss-lovers would love it if they can overcome the texture thingy! The entire range is full of awesome vibrant shades which would perk up everyone and I want them all: P *greedy * the lasting power, pigmentation are all excellent and if you don’t dare (like me) to wear this full blast you can easily lessen the intensity and be a happy bunny ^_^. Totally recommended!

So while you pick your brains to decide which one you would rather have I end my ramblings here :D a warm hug to you all who have gone through my post <3 stay beautiful !

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eye shadow : On and On Bronze Review &Swatches

$
0
0

Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadows are such a hit product; I got  to know only after I got hold of this On and On Bronze shade. I have never come across such amazing cream eye shadow.

Price : 350 INR

My expereince with  Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow – On and On Bronze:

Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow comes in a glass transparent pot with a black screw cap. The creamy pigment is pressed flat inside the pot.  I hardly use any brush to apply the color on my eyelid. I find it very convenient to apply with my little finger. It is so mess free and absolutely no fall out of the eye shadow. Another best part is that the shimmers or the eye shadow color does not transfer anywhere. They are so much like the paint pots. The creamy pigment provide very good coverage. In a few seconds of applying, the cream eye shadow dries up.

On-And-On bronze is a muted bronze. It is a beautiful shade that seems to be made a little different with some brown mixed into the bronze. The shade works beautifully alone on the eyelid. Some smearing of this shade on the eyelids and a nice black eyeliner will make a perfect eye make up for this hot summer.
Usually bronzes in all types of mixed shades come out very beautiful. This shade is a nice neutral type of shade and is fit for every day use.

The staying power is just really great for me. I have usually wanted it for about 10 hours on me. And for as long as I wanted the eyeshadow on me, it has stayed perfectly without smudging, without fading, without getting creased, without spreading across everywhere. I have not tested it being for 24 long hours. I am sure it would pass the 24 hour staying power test too.

It does not react for the splash of water. It does not even budge for face washes. Remover is a must for removing this color tattoo eyeshadow.

Swatches :

Pros of Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow – On and On Bronze:

  • Creamy texture of the eyeshadow.
  • Does not crease.
  • Very long staying power.
  • Good color coverage.
  • Color/shimmer does not transfer.

Cons of Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow – On and On Bronze:

  • Requires eye make up remover to remove the eyeshadow.

My Rating : 4.5/5
Recommendation: Yes. There are so many colors in this range. I highly recommend these color tattoo eye shadows. Especially the bronze ones.

MUA Mystical Glitter Nails: Jellyfish & Starfish Review & Swatches

$

Today I am going to share with you my review of two cute little babies from MUA, babies as they are very tiny in size and cute! I bought these recently from Superdrug store. As we all know, MUA offerings are not only affordable but also awesome!

What MUA Mystical Glitter Nails Polish claim?
Mystical Glitter Nails is an enchanting glitter nail varnish to add to the ever growing MUA Nail varnish range infused with subtle and holographic glitter. These stunning mystical shades look gorgeous when worn alone or layered over other shades from the MUA Nail varnish range.

Price: £3 for 6.8 ml (250 INR approx) each

Ingredients :

My Thoughts:

These Nail polishes are called Mystical Glitter Nails as these have a silver glitter kind of shimmer in them. Although MUA website shows 4 colours, you can actually get the full range of 8 colours from Superdrug. The two that I bought were:

Jellyfish: Beautiful violet colour which would suit all skin tones.

Starfish: Beautiful dark pink or fuchsia Pink which would suit medium to fair skin tones.

Both are very summery shades. You can wear them for regular use or evening/night out parties and look elegant. Best thing about these nail polishes is that you can either layer two coats for full on glitter look or apply one coat over any nail polish for a touch of glitter. I can bet you will get lot of attention and good words from everyone when using this nail polish, because the shades are really gorgeous.

Packaging: MUA nail paints come in very cute n small packing and brand name MUA Makeup Academy Mystical Glitter Nail embossed with silver letters on the body. There is one big round sticker pasted on the lid which exactly matches with the body. It is easy to locate the colours as they carry a unique name. It takes two coats to match the colour in the bottle.

Texture: Texture is very smooth and jelly like. It is not thick at all and has a good shimmer. Colours are very vibrant/bright and dry quickly. The formulation is of good consistency and easy to apply. After applying you can run your finger over your nail and feel the smoothness and glitters don’t spread all over the hands. The brush is quite small. Both are fragranced and smell lovely, although you have to wait for the polish to dry. The fragrance is not long lasting – will fade off rather quickly if you wash your hands often.

Price: The price isn't too bad at £3. You get a variety of different colours which are all amazing. Perfect for the young generation and something to suit all skin tones! Bright colours always look good but there are a few light colours too in this range. These are affordable, of good quality and have good staying power.

Availability: MUA online/Superdrug store

On My Nails :

My Likes:
  • Easy to apply
  • Stays Longer
  • Nourishes the nails and gives them natural shine
  • Beautiful and cute bottle
  • Brush is perfect
  • Dries up quickly
  • Very affordable
  • Subtle sparkle
  • Perfect for a day wear, night out or party
  • Formula is very fine
  • Can be used on its own or as a top coat to give a sparkle finish on your nail polish
  • Doesn’t leave glitter on nails or hands while removing

My Dislikes:
  • Comes in very small packing
  • Limited range of shades
  • Not easy to remove particularly when applied on its own

Tip given by MUA: Don’t forget a base coat to protect nails from the glitter particles – we recommend Our ‘Clear’ Top coat as it doubles as a top coat too!!

My Rating : 4.5/5

Final Verdict: I am totally in love with these cuties and going to buy more shades. Really impressed with the formula. It only needs 2 coats, dries very quickly and stays longer. What else can we ask for, so go out and grab a few!

The Body Shop Earth Lovers Lemon & Thyme Shower gel Review

$
0
0

If you do not own a body wash or shower gel from TBS then you are surely missing something.  They have a lovely range of shower gels.  Fruity, therapeutic, perfumed, you name it and they have it.   Their ‘Earth Lovers’ range is an eco-friendly one that does not contain parabens, sulphates and the plastic bottle that it comes in is 100% bio-degradable.  Go green, go ‘Earth Lovers’.

What TBS says about its ‘Earth Lovers’ range of Shower Gels:
‘This 100% biodegradable shower gel is sulphate, paraben and colourant-free. Contains real lemon and thyme extracts.  Lather up in the bath or shower using hands or a bath lily. Rinse thoroughly’.
Pear and lemongrass scent
Soap-free
No sulphates, parabens or colorants
Lemon and thyme scent

Price: INR 390 for 250 ml

Ingredients :
Aqua (Solvent/Diluent), Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate (Surfactant - Cleansing Agent), Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Surfactant), Sodium Chloride (Viscosity Modifier), Glycerin (Humectant), Parfum (Fragrance), Sodium Benzoate (Preservative), Citric Acid (pH Adjuster), Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate (Chelating Agent), Zinc Laurate (Anticaking Agent), Citrus Medica Limonum Fruit Extract (Skin-Conditioning Agent), Salicylic Acid (Preservative/Hair Conditioner), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Skin Conditioning Agent), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Thymus Vulgaris Flower/Leaf Extract (Skin-Conditioning Agent), Sodium Hydroxide (pH Adjuster).

My Take :
THYME is a very yummy ingredient when added to your roasts and it is also very, very potent and can be used to treat blemishes caused by an acne bacterium.  Lemon on the other hand is one of the most common ingredients in skin care and cosmetics these days.  Not only does it smell fantastic but has essential oils and enzymes that rid the skin of dead skin.  It is also a natural astringent and bleaching agent.

The transparent plastic bottle that the product comes in is quite durable and has a flip top cap.  You can carry it easily in your handbag and it will not leak.  Since the flip top can be unscrewed you can transfer it to another container as well.

Lemon and thyme….let me see, the scent can be described as zesty and refreshing scent with a dash of herbs that wakes up the senses.  Since the scent is quite long lasting it kind of lingers on the body for a while and also leaves the bathroom smelling good!  The consistency is slightly runny mind you, so be careful when you squeeze the bottle. The best thing about this body wash is that you do not have to spend hours under the water getting rid of the body wash ‘soapy’ feel.

Because of the absence of SLS it comes of easily.  There after you are not left with dry skin.  Of course you have to use your trusty moisturiser after every shower no matter what.  A little goes a long way and you do not need more than a table spoon for the entire body.

Now the lather effect is well almost close to nil.   For those of you who do not mind then, great but if you like to see a lot of lather when you shower then sadly, you will hardly find any.  I guess you can see how much lather a single drop can give in the picture below.

I love the Earth Lover’s range from The Body Shop and have APRICOT & BASIL that is just as ‘friendly ‘ and nice.

PROS:

  • A good product from a well-known International brand.
  • Affordable range
  • Environmentally friendly product
  • Light-weight plastic container that is 100% bio-degradable
  • Easy to cart around
  • Can be used easily by all in the family
  • Makes for an excellent and affordable gift.
  • Does not contain parabens
  • Does not lather too as much because there are no SLS
  • Absence of colourants
  • Zesty and refreshing smell
  • Long lasting scent
  • Washes off easily
  • Only a little needed each time
  • Does not  dry the skin
  • 5 more variants in the same range

CONS:

  • Available at TBS stores around the country only
  • Too many fakes in the market
  • You won’t have a lot of lather – could prove to be a con for many.

My Rating: 4/5
Final Verdict: This is one of TBS’s more affordable products.  It is a nice addition to your showering routine and more than anything is eco-friendly.  It has some good ingredients and will last for quite sometime.

It's end of May already ! So, what are you enjoying most ?? Ice creams, Mangoes, Cold coffee ??? Oh are you dieting ??  {not my thing}

Anyways browsing through the internet always makes me WANT, WISH, LUST for stuffs that are either totally unaffordable or not available in India or in some happy rare cases affordable as well as available in bharat. Here are few things I am lusting and planning to buy (before summer ends)

1. The Indian Monalisa Ladies Wallet ~ I came across this wallet at Shorsharaba.net .Priced at 950 Rs this is just WOW ! Its quirky and oh so vibrant. Planning to buy this soon

2. O.P.I Nail Laquer : Atlanta ~ Baby pink nails are perfect for summers. And I want /lust for an OPI badly. Now, since its not available in India and is way too pricey.. I may go for my fav desi nailpolish brands like colorbar/ faces/ maybelline

3.Floral Jacket : Honestly, am not a big fa of floral prints (I absolutely de-taste large prints) but there's something about this jacket.. I want this  need this in my life. Paired with a coral shirt or short dress underneath.. it would look gorgeous, no? I think we can get similar stuff at Pantaloons or Shopperstop.

4.Forest Essentials Narangi & Nagkesar Face Pack : My skin has been behaving really bad lately. From being combination-dry.. it's recently turning combination-oily and acne prone lately. Am under treatment for that. It has been long that I have not used any face pack. This one sounds promising.. but 595 rs for 50gms ??? It's an unfair world :'( Might buy next

5.Mint green Jeans : I need this.Period

6. Inglot 407Pearl eyeshadow : Okay, so during the Inglot Mother's day sale, I had ordered this one along with a bunch of other e/s at Majorbrands.. but they said the products was oos. waaa :'( I need this ~ just because its MAC Expensive pink dupe. Will buy shortly. Price : 300 rs for refills

Price : 350 INR for 1.6gms {round refills} and 300 INR for 2.7gms {square refills} This is sheer cheating. Got the round refills just because they were 250 rs

Shelf Life : 18 months from mfg

Swatch :

Without base, multiple swatch

An Attempt ~ Blue Smokey Eyes ( I used minimal amount of black, because I wanted 428 pearl to stand out ) Honest feedback needed :)

FOTD :

Inglot cream concealer

Eyes : Inglot 428 Pearl all over  , Noir in crease and outer corner frm Sleek Au natural palette, Tight lined with Lakme eye conic kajal, Maybellne Hyper curl mascara + Rimmel extra super lash mascara

Cheeks : Colorbar Just earth + Peach Rose

Lips : Inglot AMC Lip pencil 12 + MAC Cosmo

Let's sum up the pros and cons :

What I Love about Inglot freedom system eye shadow 428 pearl :
  • Rich deep blue with very fine shimmers.Pearl finish
  • 428 pearl is particularly a very flattering shade for brown eyes and indian skin tones
  • Buttery texture, that glides like a dream on lids. Easy to work with
  • Pigmentation is good and buildable
  • Zero fall outs
  • Does not crease
  • Long lasting.
  • 300rs for 2.7gms is quite affordable
  • Available through Inglot stores and majorbrands.in ( which I won't recommend.. but still is an option )
  • Dupe of MAC Deep truth and L'oreal infalliable all night blue ( texture is better than inglot and a bit more darker)
What I don't Like about Inglot freedom system eye shadow 428 Pearl :
  • Wish Inglot refill shadows had magnets like Mac refills. These are difficult to store and travel with
  • The pigmentation, for this particular shade could have been more intense.
  • Wish Inglot had more stores in India/ make them available in other (better) online portals.. and shade NAMES instead of Numbers
  • Why.. Why does round refills have less product, but are priced more :X

My Rating : 4.5/5

Final Verdict : Absolutely recommended. If you need to have one blue eye shadow in your vanity, this should be IT.

Lush Herbalism Facial Cleanser Review

$

I have a secret crush .... now don't roll your eyes ok? I am kind of obsessed with green ( and sometimes blue) colored skin care products. They are so much visually appealing on hot summer days... aren't they? Or is it only me?

So, last month I bought the much raved about Lush Herbalism Cleanser, simple because it was green and it claimed to be for oily and problematic skin. For last few months my other wise combination~dry skin isn't behaving well. It has turned more sort of Combination~oily and acne prone. After reading gazillions of rave reviews.. I decided to try it. Since, Lush products are damn costly with small shelf life  I decided to get a 100gms pack.

What Lush claims about Herbalism Face Cleanser :

Purifying and exfoliating herbal cleansing roll wash. Best used on oily and problem skin. Herbalism is a green, squidgy, putty-like paste made from powdered herbs, which are actually perfect for the skin. Herbalism cleanses with China clay, exfoliates with ground almonds, revives the skin with rosemary, uses nettle powder to purge your toxins and chamomile to soothe the surface. Please also drink two litres of water a day, go for a three mile walk, don't smoke and eat your five helpings of fruit to keep your skin looking fantastic. Herbalism can do magic, but you've got to do your part.

ahem.. that was too much gyan !
Let's find out if the magic worked on me~ sans five helping of fruit, 3 miles walk

Ingredients :
Quantitative Ingredients :Ground Almonds, Kaolin, Glycerine, Chlorophyllin Water, Nettle, Rosemary and Rice Vinegar Extract, Rice Bran, Gardenia Extract, Rose Absolute, Chamomile Blue Oil, Sage Oil, Perfume

Product Story by Lush : "We put ground almonds in this for the lovely soft cleansing milk they provide when mixed with water and for their gentle exfoliating effect.  We boost this exfoliating effect with rice bran. Then we add:

Kaolin to absorb grease and give a deep clean.

Rose absolute and chamomile oil for their skin balancing effects.

Chlorophyllin, the green pigment from grass, because it is incredibly beneficial and regenerating to the skin.

Herbalism is made with 100 percent natural ingredients. It will help with spots, grease, and calm troubled skin.

This product came about because our Japanese staff asked for a cleanser that matched the needs of Japanese skin. Often with their skin care they are trying to combat oiliness, remove shine and brighten skin tone.

Noriko brought traditional ingredients from Japan, and together with the Lush inventors, they added traditional European herbal ingredients and came up with a product that is good for combating oily skin – no matter where you happen to come from."

Price : 585 INR for 100gms

To Use I need a little more than a "pea size" of the product. I mix it with a bit of water and make a paste. I love the consistency a bit thick ~ so that there is a grainy feeling, which acts as a mild everyday scrub

What I Love about Lush Herbalism Facial Cleanser :
  • Au naturel product. No preservative. No animal testing
  • Works really well as a mild everyday facial scrub
  • I kind of love the strong herbal smell
  • I have noticed oiliness in my "T-zone" has reduced
  • Moisturizing. Makes my skin soft and supple after use.Sometimes, I am tempted to skip the day cream

What I don't Love about Lush Herbalism Facial Cleanser :
  • The tub packaging and the 'putty paste' ain't much fun to work with when you have to rush to work. I have to be extra careful to wash my face as it leaves tiny green bits near my hairline
  • Not at all effective in cleaning dust , grime, make up ! UGHHHHH ~ a facial cleanser which does not clean !!!
  • The grains might actually break you out if you have sensitive acne prone skin.
  • Shelf life is only 3 months. Am glad I picked up the travel size other wise it would have been a sheer waste of money (oh ! and its of course, pricey)
My Rating : 2/5

Final Verdict : If you have oily acne prone skin, I don't think this would be the best choice. If you have dry/ normal/ problem free skin this would be a good choice as a mild everyday scrub. I won't personally buy it again

I think will try Clinique or Vichy Normaderm range next.

The Nature's Co.Watermelon Exfoliating Body Wash Review

Let me put this simply ~ Me and my BSNL Broadband aren't the best friends forever. It ditches me at the time I need it the most. Like, in between important mails, fb msgs , online bookings etc etc.  Hence a very short and quick review of a product am using on n off for last 1 year ( yes, I had been simply lazy to review it AND also the reason that there is very little amount left in the tube)

Ok, so this brand, Nature's co. is one of my fav one's. They are bit pricey but I still prefer them over The Body Shop. The SA in their Kolkata flagship store are the best SA's I have seen anywhere. And the products I have used so far, are true to their claims and work really well on me !

What The Nature's Co. Claims & Ingredients :-

Price : 775 INR for 250ml

What I Love about The Nature's Co. Watermelon Exfoliating Body Wash :

  • Though am not a fan of fruity fragrances, but one sniff of this and I was clear bowled . It mainly smells of watermelon and kiwi. It's very refreshing and you will definitely love it , specially in Indian summers
  • It lathers pretty well and cleans thoroughly. I prefer using shower gels without loofah ( too much scrubbing isn't good!)
  • The small walnut grits you see are really mild and not much abrasive on skin.
  • Meant for all skin type, it works on my combination skin well
  • It did not aggravate my back acne
  • It does not leave my skin dry and itchy.
  • Like the see through tube packaging
  • Available online and through TNC's flagship stores
  • Shelf life mentioned
  • Cruelty free
What I don't love about The Nature's Co. Watermelon Exfoliating Body Wash :
  • Price *shock* I honestly feel they could have been much cheaper . Their regular shower gels are cheaper though. ( Read my Review on The Nature's Co 's Lemongrass body wash HERE )
  • The packaging is nice, but when you have almost finished up, it gets difficult to squeeze out the product
  • The fragrance hardly lasts for an hour or so on me
  • Though the scrub is really mild  and did not break me out ,I am unsure how it would fare on acne prone skin or those who have severe back acne
My Rating : 3/5

Final Verdict : If money ain't a con and you want to indulge , this is a good pick. I would repurchase only for that amazing fragrance. I had used their Lemon peel exfoliating shower gel previously (of course I forgot to review duh!) and loved it too. Without loofah, the shower gel alone isn't too much exfoliating.

Mac Mocha Blush Swatches, Review , FOTD

My first Mac blush. period.
I don't even want to start blabbering on the feeling when you hold your first mac makeup, how it is like holding a new born child..to tender..and you are always conscious and worried that you may hurt it (Ok..for a blush, it would be drop and break) Err..I started blabbering, no?

I wanted Mac Peaches or Melba, but I fell for this one ! It's a gorgeous dusty pink with a hint of plum (Actually it looks more plum on the pan but swatches pink!)

Price : 1350 INR (but 1150 INR for refill pan) for 6gms ~ obv I went for the refill. Mac refills (unlike Inglot) are magnetic, so I can easily store it in my pencil box *toothy grin*

It looks quite peachy pink in sunlight see ? *weird*

Swatches :

K..I know the second pic isn't flattering (I look so pale) but hey  I tried A Classic Black Smokey eye ~ nude lips today. Feedback please!

What I Like about Mac Blush Mocha :
  • Beautiful matte plummy dusty pink, will suit fair-medium Indian skin tones very well.Very flattering everyday shade
  • Though a matte blush texture isn't much chalky and there is less fall out. It kinda blends into my skin
  • Stays more than 6 hours on me over BB cream
  • Refill packs have magnet, easy to store and saves extra 200 rs

What I don't Like about Mac Blush Mocha :
  • Not too pigmented.  I need 2 swipes for the color to show up
  • They plan to increase the price of their blushes *MAC SA a kolkata told me so~ not sure*
  • If you are more than NC >44 , you may like to try before buying (am NC 30-35ish)

My rating : 4.5/5

Final Verdict : A beautiful dusty rose, suitable for fair to medium skin tones. If price is not a con~ must buy

*None of the blushes I have in my stash are close to this.. If you have a DUPE suggestion for Mac Mocha blush, let me know in the comments below !*

Ellis Faas Creamy Eyes Swatches & Review : E123, E126 , E128

$

If you have gone through my previous posts (recent ones), you might possibly realise that am going bonkers on eye shadows. I got 8 inglot refills from the recent sale , a faces quad, MUA heaven on earth is in my wish list.... n so on

So, when I got hold of these much raved Ellis Faas Creamy eyes ~ I was indeed super excited to try them ! Creamy eyes ~ the name is so alluring right?

What Ellis Faas Says :Opaque, semi matte eyeshadow with a velvety texture, providing coverage without heaviness. With its quick-drying properties and special blend of flower and coffee extracts, Creamy Eyes provides coverage without heaviness.

Turn to Creamy Eyes for shaping and contour.

Price : *cough* 36$ approx to 1900 INR  *hiccup*

The creamy eyes come in a big bullet shaped metallic packaging and is really large in size.

They have a brush for dispensing the product and a screw turn at the bottom. For the first use I had to turn that screw for almost 18 rotations fr the product to come out of the brush. For subsequent use however 1-2 turns were good enough

Swatches :

E123 : Though it looks very similar to MAC deep truth/ Inglot 428 pearl, it isn't actually the same. Its a bit more darker and has a hint of aubergine to it, which sadly my camera failed to capture :(

E126 : is a gorgeous medium brown with a hint of golden shimmer, which is really subtle and not on your face kind.

E128 : It's pink ! The color is more wearable shade for a lippi i feel LOL. But it does make a wonderful all over lid shade. There are tiny silver shimmers in it.

How to Use Ellis Faas Creamy Eyes : Go to this you tube tut HERE

What I Love about Ellis Faas Creamy Eyes :

  • Semi Liquid creamy consistency (not runny), spreads easily over eye lids
  • Matte finish and as per claims has a velvety finish <3
  • Sets quickly and once set, it doesn't smudge or budge unless removed by a makeup remover
  • Brush attached is compact. I noticed a few strands went different direction, the first time I opened in one shade. No similar problem with other shades. May be faulty packaging
  • Can be used alone or as a base. (love them as base)
  • The shades (126,128) are quite buildable
  • Travel friendly packaging

What I don't Love about Ellis Faas Creamy Eyes:

  • If you are a beginner in eye makeup this is not for you. You need quite time to practice to get a hang of the click and the liquid
  • Am not much of the pen dispensers. The 'bullet' packaging might be interesting, but I would prefer transparent tube anyday. You can't know how much product is left with these
  • Price is too high *sigh* and you get only 2.5ml
  • Availability in India. Am not sure if Sephora has stocked on these. They are only available online I guess (click here for details

My Rating : 3.5/5

Final Verdict : As far the pigmentation, color and quality of the cream goes, I am honestly bowled over. But I won't recommend this if you are a beginner in makeup. Those who are a pro or use eye shadows regularly would love these.
I am really looking forward to try their liquid blushes and creamy lips :P

*No EOTD today, have a seminar tom :( Will do one with these products soon ;)*

First Impression & Swatches :Maybelline High Shine Colorsensational Lipgloss Captivating Coral

Yippiee... my first order from Myntra.com has arrived . And I got these two babies YEY ! I have never tried a coral lipstick before..so I felt these new high shine color sensational lip gloss is my best bet as a beginner. And am really glad I did :D
I bought Gleaming grenadine too ~ but will do a detailed review sometime later.

Here's my first impression on Captivating Coral ( have never done first impressions before...but I love watching them in youtube )

Well, I Love the shade. Its a bright coral (without any peach or pink undertones)
Being a gloss, you can go sheer with the color to have just a tint on your lips
But, you can bring out the intensity with layering

Has a tangy tangerine fragrance ~ but very very mild ..almost undetectable

The transparent labeling comes off the very first time..I wish they wrote the product name on the tube too. But there is shade name and number indication at the bottom

After application there is mild tingling (wonder if it plumps )

Doe tip shaped brush..likey.. but for layering I used.. ahem...a Q tip.
at 350 INR you get a decent amount of the product
It fades with a hint of coral on your lips

As a gloss, staying power isn't very good and it transfers !
Hair in mouth *hanji* :(
Texture is creamy.. but I had presumed the creaminess would be as per to NYX lip creams ~ which it is clearly not

If you Love coral lip products buy it, because the color is gorgeous and if you are a beginner in coral lip products like me BUY it..because you can tone it down to your comfort labels..Just don't have any "OUT OF THE WORLD" expectation

Maybelline Colorsensational HighShine Lipgloss Captivating Coral is your regular lip gloss but with a stunning color

I really feel I cannot just judge a product and write a review based on a single day experience. So, I thought of doing this post. Because all of you might want to have a rough idea of the product before buying and may like to see some swatches...

Yeah.. Please do share your thoughts if you want to see similar posts of other makeup products? Because to review a product properly I Need time~ can't help!

Oh n btw I bought these from Myntra too :D *toothy grin*

I got a voucher from Myntra for shopping. I was in two minds initially . If you have been following me for some time , you must know I stay at a very remote place for my studies. I could not buy online anything while staying here. Am really happy to see them deliver to the most impossible remotest places.

I was craving for a lavender nail polish for sometime now, hence Maybelline Equilibrista was an instant pick. Baby lips..well presently , I just have 2 lip balms..come on I need more.

Honestly , I had  promised my self  a shopping ban for base makeup. And also I really didn't like Pond's tagging a bb cream with "whitening" .. but with gazillions of positive review coming my way.. I thought 'try karke dekhe?' It's tiny sample sized product of 9ml that just costed me 69 bucks

Dear Myntra.com ,If you are hearing ~ Please stock up on more makeup brands :D
{ Bourjois, rimmel, forrest essential,..... ALL of them actually :P }

Faces Ultime Pro Nali Laquer Marshmallow : Swatches & Review

Summers call for fun, bright  colors. And the easiest way to perk up any look, is by  wearing popping pink on your nails ! Faces Cosmetics has recently launched their Ultime Pro range and I got myself this bright pink shade ~ *Marshmallow* :D

What Faces Claims : A rainbow of colors to choose from with high shine finish. Long-lasting wear, resistant to chipping. Use with top coat and base coat for best results.
Faces Nail Enamel is a long lasting and chip resistant nail polish. It comes in a high shine finish formula that applies smoothly and lasts longer. Trendy colors brighten up your mood and keep up with the fashion mania. Flat brush delivers shiny smooth color for a streak free professional finish.

Price : 399 INR  for 9.8ml

On my Nails ~

*Beware of some ghastly "undone" nails and streaks and patches !!!!*

What  I Loved about Faces Ultime Pro Nail Laquer Marshmallow :

  • Gorgeous bright pink shade, Perfect for summers
  • One coat is enough for that opaque color.
  • Thick flat brush
  • Stayed 2- 3 days decently without chipping

What I don't Love about Faces Ultime Pro Nail Laquer Marshmallow :
  • The formula is thick and the application isn't smooth ~ yes I had buffed my nails, made them ridge free, moisturized.. but all in vain
  • Hence, streaks. Ughhh.. I don't know if the brush is also responsible (sry am not a degree holder when it comes to nail paints ! )
  • First coat dried first with matte finish.. but as a habit I went for the second.. more streaks, uneven finish.. took forever to dry
  • Faces kept the price high for the "professional" range..duh
  • The cutesy bottle is too chubby for my hands
My Rating : 1/5

Final Verdict : I had read most reviews when these were launched and hence had too high expectation from this range.  I am not sure if something is wrong with my nail polish.. but It did not work for me. I prefer their regular nail polish more than this Pro range. I love the shades Date Night & Emerald Dazzle
