Maybelline Colortattoo by Eyestudio 24 Hour Eyeshadow Pomegranate Punk Review&Swatches

When Maybelline came up with a bunch of beautiful makeup I was really pleased to buy a few. Currently, I have three and this is perhaps the one I don’t use as much as the rest on me, but I love this as a crease color for my eyes, especially for my deep-set eyes. This should be a staple for those with big eyelids, as the color is gorgeous. It is also a great crease color for those with larger and/or deep-set eyes.

What Maybelline Claims:
• Ink technology creates 24HR wear shadow for our most intense, long-lasting color saturation
• Cream formula glides on without creasing and keeps color vibrant
• Ophthalmologist-tested.  Safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers
Price: INR 350/-
Quantity:4 gm.

My Take:
The dupe to the MAC paint pots, I personally find the Eyetattoo to be way more versatile than the formerThe idea behind these eye shadows remain with the fact that they are super-easy to apply, and really glorious as the base. I have constantly marveled at their staying power.

The Package:
The package is similar to other paint pots. Heavy glass pot, which is better stored upside down for convenience, because that way I can easily locate the color from within the rest. The screw top lid does not come off very easily, making this amazing for travelling.

The Eye shadow:
The eye shadow is cream-based, and the ideal method of application is to apply it with your fingertips. What Maybelline’s official website suggest is to use your fingertip to color your eyelids from the inner corners of the eye to the outer lid. I have used this color both as a base color and as a crease color.
As a base color, it very easily settles on my lids and you would have to give this about 3-4 minutes to settle properly. Once set, this is then mostly indestructible, so, if you are blending, then make it a point (and yes, I am Underlining because it is imperative) to not take more than 30-40 seconds to do the full blending, because after that, this will set. And once set, it will not go without a good makeup remover.

The color of the eye shadow is a gorgeous plum shade with light micro-glitters which are not over the top at all, giving pearly plum sheen to it. I love using it as my crease color. It actually settles down really well as the crease color, and I generally use it paired up with a neutral pink shade, or a bronze or gold shade.
The color is also great as a liner, and I use a thin eyeliner brush to draw a fine line on my upper eyelid.
The color sticks to me for at least 9-12 hours without fading or creasing, two great concerns with cream-based eye shadows. I have been very pleased with its performance, and I would recommend anyone who wants to try an inexpensive paint pot to include at least one of these into her kitty, just because of the versatility I get out of it.

Swatch :

So, to sum up, here are the things that attract me:
  •     Great travel-friendly package
  •    Gorgeous plum color
  •    Blends easily
  •    Amazing staying power
  •    Does not crease on my eyelids
  •    Great as a crease color
  •    Washes with a makeup remover
  •    Can be made into an eyeliner
  •    Quite economic for the size and quantity
  •    Available online as well as in Maybelline counters
  •    No cons !

My Verdict:5/5
I am very pleased with this color, and want more shades, especially the Taupe. Maybelline, are you listening?
