What does an over stressed bride-zilla need???
1.Chocolate ( works ,but your lehenga won't be too pleased about that ! )
2.Meditation & deep breathing exercises (helps, but sometimes your mind is way too occupied)
3. Spa ! ( perfect..only if it doesn't burn your pocket )
If your choice is option #3 Tell me, honestly... how frequently do you come across a SPA (get the sarcasm) that doesn't slap you with a thunderous charge ?? So, my fellow bridezilla's and totally freaked out (non-bridezilla) beauties ... Keep Calm and visit Four fountain spa. No, am not promoting or being payed.. but am super excited to share with you my latest 'pocket friendly' spa experience.
Yep ! the latest buzz in the town is The Four Fountains Spa. You kind find out more details and locations in their website here.
My experience :
So, last week I made a point to visit The For Fountains Spa (Kolkata) ~ Theatre road branch (I have already read so many positive reviews from my fellow bloggers.. I just had HAD to experience that in real)I got an late evening appointment and the staff were cordial.(They could have been grumpy because I made them work overtime on a weekend :P ) I also tagged along the boy after much cajoling . Because, like me he too was super freaked out and tensed. ( getting married ain't all fun I guess)
As soon as I entered , I was so mesmerised by the whole spa-licious ambience! Mellowed instrumental music, dim lights, fragrance of lemongrass .... aaahhhh Bliss ! I had a really rough day with the designers and tailor that day.. so the ambeince kinda instantly soothed me. The girl at the front desk welcomed me and showed me the rate cards. I chose the de-stressing full body swedish massage. I was given to fill up a form, which to me looked like a medical consent form. At this point, an inhouse doctor should have visited for my "Stress test" .. but since it was too late at evening, the doctor had already left.
The blogger in me went clickety click.. while waiting for my therapist... (the wait wasn't too long though)
Backrest in the sitting area
Once the therapist arrived, I wanted to see the rooms and enquired about the sanitation . They have disposable sheets and undergarments for their clients. The towels are regularly sent for dry cleaning outside.
The massage rooms were cozy. A total of 6 such rooms are in their Theatre road branch. Each room was well equipped with lockers, hangers and even tiny jewellery boxes.A full length mirror was in the rooms ( for your after shower need) ... oh , and a delicious smelling body lotion too They didn't have a steam room but each massage room had an attached shower. The shower area however was really tiny. However it had running hot and cold water, pumps out shampoos and body wash. A slipper was also provided.
I was welcomed to a room that read "BLISS" ~ how fascinating ! They had named each massage rooms like "life" "peace" "bliss" etc
Each and every product they use (for massaging to shower) are made by the company itself .And was claimed to be "au-naturel"
This is their room where facials are done
Attached Shower
Another important thing which I was impressed with there were separate male and female masseurs.
So,The boy went ahead to another room for his aromatic spa session and I entered my BLISS room :) (However i envy the boy actually . I was recommended not to go for the aromatherapy message because of breakouts..)
I was given allowed my comfortable time to change. My therapist started with warming her hands (bonus point here) and cleaned my feet first with a warm moist towel. And gently massaged starting from back, legs , hands and chest. For those who are consious, let me tell you, the therapist took extra care to ensure you were comfortable and there was in no way a breach to modesty. I was so relaxed and enjoying the session that didn't realise when the hour whizzed by. I was told to take a shower after my session.I liked that even though she was moving around the table she did not loose contact with my body. Except for the body part being massaged, rest of my body was covered with disposable sheet.
Fyi, for my swedish massage therapy, seasame oil was used, which however was very light and didn't feel sticky or heavy.
I took a long relaxing bath and came out totally refreshed and practically "lighter"
After my session, I was requested to feel up a feedback form and served with Jasmine tea. Complimentary cooling gels were given too us to rub on forehead and feet before hitting the sack for a better sleep ( much needed, indeed!)
The boy's was a first time experience at a spa and loved it. his only complaint- "wish it had lasted longer"
For curious souls, here is the rate card of Four fountain spa. Please remember, I am not accountable for any changes in this ( in future). Service Tax ( to be added) 100 INR for 60mins session and 50 INR for a 30 mins sessions.
