I have a thing for matte lipsticks. When I first tried one on, I was immediately in love. Revlon Matte lipsticks are a particular favorite. I have never really been able to resist that brand, and when I saw these beauties, it was an immediate moment of susceptible recognition.

I am a sucker for matte red lipsticks which look amazing on me. This one, along with two others, has formed a holy trio of lipsticks meant for me when I am strapped for time and want a sophisticated look within seconds. I bought this color a year back, and had to repurchase because I finished it. There’s something about matte lipsticks that has that little 1950s thing going on, and I have discovered that I suit it perfectly. This shade was my recent purchase from Medplusbeauty when they were giving a 20% discount on Revlon. The color is available with them along with several Revlon counters, so I would suggest you guys give this one a try.

What Revlon has to say: Straight from the runway shades! Beautifully rich matte colour glides effortlessly across lips. Suede-like, cushiony feel and with maximum colour impact. Beautifully rich shades from nude to deepest berry. Ultra-creamy saturated lip colour that delivers beautiful, lightweight matte colour without any dryness, caking or fading.

Price: 525INR for 4.2 gm.

My Take:

Okay, the packaging is a classic Revlon one. I love the packaging, which is super-classy. The top is transparent, so you can identify and locate this from among your large lipstick stash. I generally reach for this one when I am in doubt and want reassurance. Also, it is super travel-friendly, so no problem if you just take it with you and run.

To apply, I first exfoliate my lips lightly (mostly when I am brushing, I also apply my soft toothbrush over my lips) and then I put on a bit of lip balm or light moisturizer over it. Then I apply the lipstick over my lips by at first lining my lips with the tip and then filling the lips in with the color. Then I blot it once with a tissue and apply again. This is my standard with any lipstick, unless it comes in a pot, and I have found that it is the most effective one, that makes my lipsticks last quite long.

The formula is creamy while the effect is matte. However, the best thing is, these lipsticks leave behind a stain which is really appealing. The color Fabulous Fig is a matte dark brownish red, very creamy shade, which looks gorgeous against my skin. It is a color perfect for people with Indian skin tones, especially those ranging from NC 35-45 and above, because it is a very everyday shade. I used to go to my office wearing this and the color would stay put all day. When it faded, it would leave behind a lovely bitten red stain which is really attractive.

I would have to say, I love this color. It is rich, thick, creamy, and gorgeous. Who would have thought it would be this pretty? However, I love the fact that it does not have any weird smell and not just that, I also love the fact that it stays on my lips for absolute ages. This color is really vibrant and it makes my face look brighter without making me look older, as many lipsticks of similar shades have the tendency to do. I also like the fact that the lipstick does not need to be touched up every hour or so. The formula stays on quite firmly.

Swatch :

Pros:
Classic package
Travel-friendly
Easy to apply
Long lasting
No irritating fragrance
Amazing color for Indian skin tones

Cons:
Slightly drying on dry lips

My Rating : 5/5 (I have absolutely no complains with this).
Final Verdict :So, yes, I would have to say I am totally happy with the product and would repurchase again.
